Product detail
Cams included: Five types: A, B, C, D, and J
**After drilling a hole in the grip end, always use the handguard with the handguard installed. If the grip end is open or just the bar end plug is installed, sand, dust and dirt can easily accumulate at the end, which will prevent the throttle from working properly.
*The recommended tightening torque for 3mm hex bolts is 1.69Nm.Excessive torque may cause the bolt head to break.
*For 2017-20 KTM / HUSQ 2nd models with V2 grips as standard equipment, please use the stock cam.
*For 2016-20 KTM / HUSQ 4st models with V2 grips as standard equipment, please use the stock cam.
*Image may contain other colors and type.
*The compatible cams are different depending on the model. For more information, please refer to "Compatible Models".
*There may be changes in product specifications due to the manufacturer's reasons.
.
After the success of the Emig V2 lock-on grip system, the collaboration between ODI and Jeff Emig has taken motocross grips to the next level.
Numerous test sessions with top riders and countless hours of design time have gone into developing a grip that not only provides maximum bike control for riders of all levels, but also meets the needs of professionals.
The newly designed Emig Pro V2 lock-on grip features a special soft compound that provides comfort, excellent control, and even reduces hand fatigue.
Based on a diamond pattern with a depth that provides better vibration dampening, the JE logo pattern with a higher thickness fits the palm of the hand and reduces vibration more due to the increased thickness of the grip.
Undercut, flexible ribs that provide lateral and rotational traction.
Alloy-reinforced end caps provide increased durability against impact to the grip end.
Version 2.1 lock-on system. It is easy to put on and take off, just by tightening the bolt, and there is no need to worry about the grip rotating.
[Features of the lock-on grip]
・100% anti-slip performance
・The grip is crimped to the throttle tube, so no grip glue or wiring is required
・The grip end can be easily drilled to allow installation of bar end plugs and hand guards
・The throttle tube comes with a snap-on cam and can be used for a variety of vehicles
・Snap-on cams for both 2-stroke and 4-stroke vehicles are included
[Clutch side Installation method]
1. Remove the old grips and wipe clean the dirt and glue from the handlebar.
2. Attach the clutch to the handlebar while sliding the grip on the clutch side. The grip should go in smoothly at the beginning of the insertion, and the movement should become progressively harder as you move toward the tip.
3. After firmly inserting the grip all the way to the end, tighten the hexagonal bolt with a 3mm HEX wrench.
4. Check the hex bolts and ODI clamps periodically for looseness, and replace them if they have been subjected to impact or other damage.
[Throttle Side Installation Instructions]
Check the compatibility chart and select a cam that fits your model.
2. Install the cam in the correct position on the throttle tube.If you hear a clicking sound, it means it is properly installed.
3. Loosen the bolts and open the throttle housing in the same way as when replacing the throttle tube.
4. Thread the throttle cable through the cam on the new grip and make sure the cable goes through correctly without twisting.
5. Close the throttle housing cover.
[When using a full-coverage handguard]
If the ODI lock-on grip is to be used with a full-coverage handguard, remove the bar end.
Follow the steps below to remove the bar ends.
1. Use a sharp blade to make an incision along the inner diameter of the circle on the bar end side.
2. Use a drilling tool or screwdriver handle to drop the end of the grip.
3. Clean off the rubber from the end of the grip so that there is no residue around the throttle tube.
4. Turn the throttle and make sure there is no problem with movement.
5. Close the throttle housing cover.
[When using a deeply knurled handlebar]
Some aftermarket handlebars have a slightly thicker outer diameter due to deep knurling on the clutch side, which may prevent the installation of the ODI lock-on grip without modification.
Deep knurling makes for better adhesion with stock grips, but ODI lock-on grips are 100% guaranteed not to slip due to our patented lock-on grip system, so there is no need to use handlebars with such a process.
ODI's simple locking ring and 3mm hex bolts allow for simple and easy installation / removal.
When installing the ODI lock-on grip on an aftermarket handle with deep knurling, it is necessary to slightly grind the surface to restore the outer diameter to the original 22.2mm.
Follow the steps below to complete the process.Allows ODI grips to be installed without snagging on the handlebar surface.
1. Using masking tape, cover the area around the knurled part of the clutch side of the handlebar. This process will keep the handlebar's beautiful surface.
2. Using a metal file, shave the knurled area evenly, moving it diagonally, so that the diameter of the handlebar is reduced just a little.
3. Scrape the entire surface 360 degrees in the same way to make the whole surface even and flat.
4. When you have finished cutting 360 degrees, try attaching the grip to the handle and see if it goes in smoothly.Do not use excessive force at this time.Once you are sure that the grip goes in smoothly, remove it and polish the handlebar surface with sandpaper to finish.
5. Use medium-grit sandpaper (either wet or dry) to remove fine surface irregularities.
6. Remove the masking tape and install the grip.
