[Product Summary]
By changing the spring rate and preload from the stock "two-seater setting" to a spring rate and preload designed for one-seater, the gap absorption is improved, and even if the rider moves to sport riding, the load change by stroke is reduced and the oil viscosity and preload adjustment to the best range can be easily adjusted. Offsetting to the best range is easy.
We recommend these springs not only for touring and city riding, but also for driving on twisty roads, mini courses and gymkhana.
[Productization history]
The NINJA250SL / Z250SL, which is designed with two riders in mind, picks up a gap in the road surface at low speeds and vibrates on the handlebars, but when braking a little harder or picking up the pace, the bike is shaky....
Furthermore, since the normal rear suspension is very rigid, the stock suspension, which is more prone to noticeable looseness, experiences a "katsun!" shock followed by a bowing sensation ("shakun!") on rough road surfaces like manhole steps or mountain passes. This can cause wrist discomfort.
I think that many SL users feel the repetition of "katsun shakun" that every SL user feels in the pox in the latter half of the touring.
Therefore, based on the assumption that the majority of people ride solo, the selection of springs that match the shock absorption and load changes has been carefully made. Without introducing drastic changes to the original balance, it provides a natural lean even during throttle-off, and the more you ride, the more you will feel as if the springs were not original from the beginning.
When you hear about the setting for solo riding, people immediately assume, "Is it soft?" However, the springs designed and created with the latest technology do not fit the evaluations written in past riding books at all.
The spring is made without regard to cost, so that the initial movement is soft and you will feel the calm movement of the spring as you step in the back.
Long touring travelers can also experience the dizzy-free movement even when loaded with camping gear for a couple of nights.
Also, it is said that "it is difficult to find the right setting for the front end" when riding NINJA250SL in a sports race, but by changing to a single rate spring, the rate change during stroke is reduced. This is a great advantage to make it easier to adjust the setting to the speed range of the circuit, gymkhana course, mountain pass or touring that you often go to, and to make it more fun to drive and closer to your personal preference.
