Product detail
Included throttle cams: Six types: B, C, D, J, K, and M
**After drilling a hole in the grip end, always use the handguard with the handguard installed. If the grip end is open or just the bar end plug is installed, sand, dust and dirt can easily accumulate at the end, which will prevent the throttle from working properly.
*When installing ODI lock-on grips on deeply knurled aftermarket handles, it is necessary to slightly shave the surface and return the outer diameter to the original 22.2mm.
*The recommended tightening torque for 3mm hex bolts is 1.69Nm.Excessive torque may cause the bolt head to break.
*Various special cams are included. Please check the manual for compatibility before use.
*2016- KTM & Husqvarna 4-strokes, 2017- KTM & Husqvarna 2-strokes with V2 grips as standard, use stock cam.
*Use D cam for BETA 2-stroke models.
*Cam K is the ideal cam for all RMZ250/450 and KX250/450 (4st) models.
*Images are for reference only.Other models and colors are included.
*There may be changes in product specifications due to the manufacturer's reasons.
.
The MX grip features an oversized block pattern for superior shock absorption and easy control.
Block pattern for easy control and non-slip.
The large grip diameter (approx. 32mm) provides excellent cushioning.Deep groove pattern keeps out mud and foreign matter.
[Features of the lock-on grip]
・100% anti-slip performance.
・The grip is crimped to the throttle tube, so there is no need for grip glue or wiring.
・The grip ends can be easily drilled and bar-end plugs and handguards can be attached.
・The throttle tube is equipped with a snap-on cam for use with various types of bikes.
・Snap-on cams are available for both 2-stroke and 4-stroke bikes.(Cam included: 6 types of B, C, D, J, A or K, and M)
[Clutch side Installation method]
1. Remove the old grips and wipe the handlebar clean of any dirt or glue.
2. Slide the clutch side grip onto the handlebar. The grip should go in smoothly at the beginning of the insertion, and the movement should become progressively harder as you move toward the tip.
3. After inserting the grip firmly up to the tip, tighten the hexagonal bolt with a 3mm hex wrench.
4. Hexagonal bolts and ODI clamps should be checked periodically for looseness and replaced if subjected to impact.
[Throttle Side Installation Instructions]
1. Select the right cam for your model.
2. Install the cam in the correct position on the throttle tube.If you hear a clicking sound, it means it is properly installed.
3. Loosen the bolt and open the throttle housing in the same way as when replacing the throttle tube.
4. Pass the throttle cable through the cam of the new grip, making sure that the cable is correctly routed without any kinks.
5. Close the throttle housing cover.
[When using a full-coverage handguard]
If the ODI lock-on grip is to be used with a full-coverage handguard, remove the bar end.
Follow the steps below to remove the bar ends.
1. Make a cut along the inside diameter of the circle on the bar end side using a sharp knife.
2. Using a drilling tool or a screwdriver handle, cut off the end of the grip.
3. Clean the throttle tube so that there is no rubber or other material left around the throttle tube from cutting the grips.
4. Turn the throttle and check that there are no movement problems.
5. Close the throttle housing cover.
[When using a deeply knurled handlebar]
Some aftermarket handlebars have a slightly thicker outer diameter due to deep knurling on the clutch side, which may prevent the installation of the ODI lock-on grip without modification.
Deep knurling improves the bond with the stock grips, but the ODI lock-on grips are guaranteed 100% non-slip by the patented lock-on grip system, so there is no need to use handlebars with such machining.
ODI's simple locking ring and 3mm hex bolts allow for simple and easy installation/removal.
When installing the ODI lock-on grip on an aftermarket handle with deep knurling, it is necessary to slightly grind the surface to restore the outer diameter to the original 22.2mm.
Follow the steps below to complete the process.
Allows ODI grips to be installed without snagging on the handlebar surface.
1. Using masking tape, cover around the knurled area on the clutch side of the handlebar. This process will keep the handlebar's beautiful surface.
2. Using a metal file, shave the knurled areas evenly and diagonally so that the diameter of the handlebar becomes just a little bit smaller.
3. Shave the entire 360° surface in the same manner to flatten the entire surface uniformly.
4. After 360 degrees of sharpening is completed, try to install the grip on the handle and check if it goes in smoothly.Do not use excessive force at this time.Once you are sure that the grip goes in smoothly, remove it and polish the handlebar surface with sandpaper to finish.
5. Remove fine surface irregularities with medium-grit sandpaper (wet or dry).
6. Remove the masking tape and install the grips.
