SIP PERFORMANCE brake caliper as a high-performance upgrade for Vespas and GRIMECA disc brakes. The Vespa PX98/MY/11 models and all GRIMECA disc brakes were supplied ex works with a simple cast brake caliper. SIP PERFORMANCE offers a high-quality alternative that improves braking performance.
The brake caliper is CNC-milled entirely from aluminum and is equipped with a larger piston diameter and wider GALFER brake pads. The result is a more precise and powerful braking system without modifications to the existing brake system. The larger 31.5 mm piston diameter provides increased braking power compared to standard cast calipers. The system uses GALFER brake pads with a larger width for a more stable contact surface. Additional inner holes facilitate easier bleeding.
The anodized surface makes the brake caliper a visual highlight for custom and performance setups. It fits perfectly with the PX'98 with 12 mm brake pistons or GRIMECA with 11 mm brake pistons. Semi-hydraulic disc brakes such as GRIMECA Classic, NT, or PX'98/MY also benefit from this upgrade. Simply replace the existing brake caliper with 25/30 mm pistons without changing the existing brake system. The caliper can also be used on PIAGGIO Quartz/SKR models by rotating it 180°, moving the ventilation screw upwards, and attaching the brake hose at the bottom.
SIP PERFORMANCE brake calipers (5640) have a general type approval. Since 10/2014, the brake calipers have borne the KBA 61358 type mark and are legal for road use. Use new brake fluid. A steel braided brake hose provides a more precise braking feel. If the ventilation screw ball is lost, a gasket set is required.
