Push it to the limit - Spacer Cylinder Head and base for long stroke shaft tuning.
Thicker base and head gaskets/spacers are required for higher-set cylinders and crankshafts with extended stroke.
Available as gasket cylinder head or cylinder base.
Available in thicknesses of 0.5 mm / 0.8 mm / 1.0 mm.
Adapted for the various cylinder sizes.
When using a long stroke crankshaft, half the length of the extra stroke must be compensated for by a head and/or base gasket.
When compensating with a foot seal, the outlet times are longer and the overflow times are significantly longer.
If the outlet is also raised slightly by milling, the engine is optimized for higher speeds.
Compensation with a head gasket extends the exhaust and overflow times only slightly, whereby the overflow time changes more than the exhaust time (less pre-discharge).
This is an optimization for more torque at medium engine speeds.
If, for example, you install a cylinder with a 46 mm stroke crankshaft instead of the original 43 mm stroke, the 3 mm more stroke must be leveled by a 1.5 mm gasket.
Then the following applies: 1.5 mm compensation base: wide rev range and high horsepower figures, but low torque and a late and sudden power boost.
1.5 mm compensation head: brute torque and risk of wheelie in the lower revs, but lower peak power.
The head gaskets are available in thicknesses of 0.5 mm / 0.8 mm / 1.0 mm / 1.5 mm, the base gaskets in thicknesses of 0.5 mm / 0.8 mm.
We offer various cylinder head spacers with diameter 43 mm for racing cylinders around 63 cc and spacers with diameter 47.4 mm for all racing cylinders with 73-74.6 cc.
The cylinder base spacers are available with diameter 46.0 mm for the 50-63 cc cylinders and with diameter 50.0 mm for the cylinders up to 73 cc.
Depending on the cylinder, the base gasket should be individually adjusted to prevent it from lying over the overflow channels.
Conclusion: Long-stroke shaft tuning with different spacer combinations is one of the performance enhancements of recent years.
Gaskets for the cylinder head and gasket cylinder base can be combined depending on requirements.
Be sure to lubricate the spacers with a little sealing paste before installation.
