The holes for the JA07 are pre-drilled for installation, and since I was able to obtain an out-of-print Over Carrier during the ordering period, I installed it with that, but still found the holes in just the right places, so I was able to install it without drilling new holes. I was able to install it without having to drill a new hole. The holes were drilled precisely, and I think OEMs will have no problem installing them.
With the OEM Carrier, it is closer to the back, and unless you are a Small person or a front-rider, the vibration of driving will be transmitted to the box, which will be quite uncomfortable for your back. (I was surprised to feel quite a bit of vibration when it hit my back while driving.) Therefore, we recommend that you try to avoid hitting it.
