It was easy because it became a set

SR 400 The year 2000 drum final mold. If I think about 28,000 km once in a chain - Since I did not want to replace sprockets, I finally exchanged. I asked BIKE store to change according to vehicle inspection. Secondary reduction ratio is genuine 2. 947 This item 2. It is almost the same as 933, but 60 km before replacement at 6500 km after replacement at 5 th speed 3,000 rpm. Perhaps the previous sprocket has decreased considerably. Although it converts from genuine 428 to 520, it does not matter the sound. Drive for SR - Driven sprocket, because the chain was set, we could save time and effort to think about the combination.

Very Good

It is a classic 520 Conversion.

Chain of 428 Size of SR 400 OEM is changed to Chain of 520 Size, Set which can exchange Sprocket before and after.

I decided to exchange it because some sticking of LINK part of Chain's Piece I used to date came out.

For replacement work, some OEM Parts Number will be required, so we recommend you to order at the same time. You can easily search it from Yamaha's Parts List.

Chain seems to be designed with an X-shaped O-ring suppressed Friction loss, but it seems that because of the high viscosity of the protective Grease applied to the new article immediately after replacement, the acceleration feeling improved so much There was no real feeling. After running for a while, I felt that I was accelerating very strongly with Smooth after cleaning hard and lubricating after a hard Grease dropped. If possible, it may be better to wash away protective Grease immediately after installation and make it move to Smooth from the beginning.

Regarding the driving sound, too, the OEM 428 Size seems to rise in rank order, so I am a little worried if I do not get used to it.

Drive sprocket is the direction to install (Front and back) I was wondering which way to do it. Unlike Driven Sprocket which can be judged at a glance, Front is hard to see. In my case, I mounted the face with the number of engraved marks facing outwards, and the Chain line came out, so I judged that it was good.
Since this handling instruction manual is not attached here, I think that it can be relieved in amateur work if attached.

Since the number of front and rear Sprocket chose the one closest to the reduction gear ratio of OEM, we can drive without any discomfort without losing balance of OEM.
Regarding the reduction ratio, it depends on the Tuning state of the Engine and how it is used, but I think that it is safe to follow the reduction gear ratio of the OEM if it gets lost.
