ADVANTAGE FCC TRACTION CONTROL CLUTCH Kit
ADVANTAGE develops most of its production equipment in-house, building production lines that balance quality and cost. The kit is developed through rigorous simulation of clutch functional characteristics under various usage environments and extensive testing under harsh conditions.
ADVANTAGE FCC Features:
The primary goal is to exceed OEM performance standards, focusing on transmitting traction to the rear tire, reducing abrupt engagement, and improving durability for modern high-performance motorcycles. The design aims to prevent accidents.
(1) Friction Discs: Uses special paper-based clutch disc material. Provides soft engagement and firm power transmission during acceleration. Offers linear feedback to the rider. Highly rated for both road racing and off-road scenarios like motocross.
(2) Durability: Offers 3-5 times the service life of conventional products.
(3) Coatings: Depending on the model, components like pressure plates or hubs are treated with Kashima coating for high durability or ACC (ADVANTAGE Cool Coating) to reduce oil temperature. These coatings prevent galling and uneven wear, ensuring smooth movement and preventing judder.
(4) Kit Optimization: Each kit is redesigned based on actual vehicle data and technical drawings, optimizing capacity and friction/plate tolerances. "Plus 1" kits are available for certain models, increasing the number of friction discs by one to significantly improve durability without sacrificing performance.
ADVANTAGE FCC Clutch Springs:
Produced at a specialized KYB/SHOWA suspension spring factory using valve spring material (SWOSC-V). Features a spring tilt tolerance of less than 0.5 degrees, special shot-peening, and model-specific design. Designed to minimize spring rate reduction due to oil temperature.
Spring Rate:
Eliminates the common issue of heavy clutch pull in reinforced clutches. By optimizing synergy with friction discs and plates, the spring rate does not need to be excessively increased, resulting in a lighter feel compared to rival products.
Friction Disc Manufacturing:
Uses the "Segment Method," an F.C.C. proprietary process. Tape-like friction material is pressed onto the core plate, allowing for flexible oil groove shapes to meet diverse requirements such as improved shift shock and reduced drag for better fuel efficiency.
Steel Plates:
Steel plates are critical for managing clutch clearance. To prevent clutch slippage and poor engagement caused by thermal distortion, plates are treated with GSN (Gas Soft Nitriding) to enhance durability and resistance to warping.
