The third mobile from Yamaha, the Tricity.
I also test-rode one when it was released.
The initial impression was that TRICITY would be easy to ride even for people who are not good at riding motorcycles.
Some people are not good at 180 turns because motorcycles are most unstable at low speeds.

However, the Tricity is stable even at low speed, so you can do your turns without any hesitation.
It's perfect for touring, riding around town, and commuting.

Talking to the staff of a motorcycle accessory shop, some of them commented that people who have never ridden a motorcycle before are coming to the shop with the Tricity after getting their license.

There were two things that may bother you about the TRICITY.

The first point is that the step is narrow and the storage space under the seat is small, so the load capacity is small.
World Walk has developed a rear rack for the TRICITY, which can be mounted with a rear box to solve the storage problem.

Another problem is that the stock windshield on the TRICITY is too small to provide effective wind protection.
Stock TRICITY accessories include a meter visor and a high windshield, but both are very expensive and the meter visor is too small.The high windshield seemed too big.

Therefore, World Walk developed the ws-17t long windshield for TRICITY, which is just the right size.

TRICITY's stock windshield is 350mm high, but the optional high windshield is 770mm high.
However, the size of the high windshield makes it difficult to see the reflection of the headlights of oncoming vehicles when the windshield is dirty.Therefore, the size of the device was decided after repeated prototyping by processing a vinyl chloride plate (a transparent plate that is relatively easy to process).

The long windshield WS-17T for TRICITY is 570mm in length and width, and it is enough for those who are 165cm tall because the head is above the windshield, so it does not obstruct your view.

When a rider rides a motorcycle, he leans his upper body forward and his helmet may hit the windshield.
In order to prevent this, the center of the windshield is concave, while the left and right sides are convex to maximize the wind protection effect.

The windshield is available in clear or smok color.

The clear type is highly transparent and the windshield does not stand out.
On the other hand, the smoke type gives a sharp image because it looks like wearing a cowl.

After test riding it from November to the beginning of January the following year, my honest opinion is

1, It makes riding in the middle of winter easier and
2, It's a lot of fun to ride TRICITY.

As for the first point, the number of wind hitting my body has decreased, and I feel the same even if I wear fewer clothes.(2-3 degrees Celsius)
It frees you from the thick innerwear that you always wore in the middle of winter, and as a result, reduces the stiffness of your upper body and the weight of your clothes.

As for point 2, it's a personal feeling for me, but the extended windshield makes TRICITY feel more embraced, more secure, and more peaceful.
You can't ride on the highway, but you may want to go down the road with your luggage on the back.
You'll like TRICITY more with windshield, knuckle guard and rear carrier.

Since World Walk staff's parents live in Ibaraki, a long windshield was installed on the TRICITY and used when they went back home.
The long windshield reduces the wind hitting the body and makes the rider feel more secure.


The biggest advantage was that it reduced the cold because the test was conducted in the winter, but in the summer, it prevents the caterpillars from hitting your body and face, and in the rain, it reduces the rain hitting your thighs and stomach.

The wind hitting the center of the body is reduced and the wind hitting the body is reduced compared to the stock windshield, even at a certain speed, so the fatigue caused by the wind is considerably reduced.

With the windshield installed, wind noise of entrainment can be heard through the helmet, but this is the same even if the stock TRICITY windshield or meter visor is installed.
If you lean forward a little, the wind noise will be reduced.

In addition, it is mounted at an angle that lays slightly to the rider's side, which increases the stability of the tire by pushing it against the ground.
Any trouble was not happened during the test riding such as significant decrease in fuel economy or slowdown in acceleration by installing the long windshield.

The material is not the stock polycarbonate, but the highly transparent acrylic.
The thickness is 3mm, so it can withstand a certain degree of impact.

TRICITY is designed to be used as a daily companion, and by installing a windshield with high windproof performance, you can ride with greater comfort and peace of mind.
