KYB Special Front Suspension

Great looking pair of fork. Firmer as compared to the stock fork. Doesnt dive as easily. Relatively simple and direct installation job. A more comfortable ride compared to the original form.

I had replaced the Rear with Y's GearKYB earlier and finally replaced the Front as well.
OEMFork (Oil viscosity + oil level adjusted) It's almost OH time, so I thought it would be just the right time for Timing.

I bought a used MT-07 Initial Model (2014) and started riding it, and my first touring was to Hakone, Japan after 15 years. What I was to experience there was the rampant Front Suspension… that I had experienced on my XJR400 25 years ago.
I can't apply Brake because the Curve keeps shaking in the deceleration zone and the Rear is also in sync with the Curve.
The KYBSPECIAL KnifeFront fork, which I purchased with a strong will, shows that Dumping is working well the moment I start riding. Even if I rock the bike back and forth, the front end sinks, extends, and settles down. The front absorbs the shock and settles down. Even in the deceleration zone of a mountain pass, you can brake with ease. Compared to the OEM, which seems to blow away over bumps in the bank, this model is outstandingly stable.
I have also changed the rear shock to Ohlins since then, and now I can finally touring on the mountain passes for the first time with peace of mind.
The suspension of the Initial Model is completely inadequate for a 700cc Large Motorcycle. It is not enough if the vehicle is driven with low engine displacement volume, but with this suspension of the large model, which has a high speed range, it is impossible to tour with peace of mind. It may be unavoidable due to the low price of the vehicle, but I think MT-07 is finally a normal Large Motorcycle after replacing the front and rear suspension.

[How is it used?
I have been riding it for about 5.5 years, mainly for day-touring, but after reading this article by Mr. Wakayama, I thought that I should change it. (If you are able to make your own suspension settings, you may want to try the same method as Mr. Wakayama's.)

Was the one you received as per Image?
I have read the impression that it is easy to open, but I can't open it because I am too scared.
I think the texture is good, including the DLCCoating on the Black and the Initial adjustment mechanism on the Top.

Was the installation difficult?
I asked Shop, whom I trust, to help me.

How was your experience with it?
At first my body could not keep up with Rhythm, but recently I am finally getting used to it. I can now concentrate on my driving. Smooth running.

Two stickers (for MT-07, XSR700) and instruction manual. The instruction manual is very helpful, as it includes a Setting Guide for the combination with Normal suspension and KYBRear shock.

[Was there anything that disappointed you?
None in particular. I hope there is no RustRust… when you open it.
In terms of driving, the ride quality is a little worse compared to NORMAL as it picks up minor road surface decoration bumps. However, it is not to the extent that it is uncomfortable.
I would like to ask you to do the adjustment without tools in the future.

The effect of replacing the Rear with KYB may be noticeable, but the sinkage was reduced and the footing worsened a little, probably due to the Initial being applied. (In the factory standard condition)

I was a little hesitant because of the price, but I think it is worth more than the price (the ride is drastically different) I recommend it to anyone who likes MT-07 and wants to ride it for a long time.
The spring rate is basically the same as the normal rate, so I think it is for those who want to improve the direction of the OEM. If you have a clear direction for competition Others and want to change it from NORMAL, I think another Manufacturer will be a better match.
