YZF-R1 2020 damper (Bracket, muffler)
A 2020 Yamaha YZF-R1 was brought into my garage as there was a weird nose happening around the right front panel. It turned out to be a faulty damper (Bracket, muffler). For some reason the actual rubber art had disintegrated and meant this was metal on metal. I still cannot figure out how this happened but the customer needed a new one. I found the correct damper from Yamaha schematic diagrams and parts catalogue. Strange lieel piece but clearly essential. The price that Webike sold this for was very good value. This is something I have never purchased or come to think of it, never even knew they broke.Anyway, the shipping was great value due to other parts in the same order which made the charge excellent. Super fast and via EMS. Delivered within a week of ordering. Webike also, tape all the exposed edges of the outer box so nothing could be lost in transit. There was very little on the way of space in the box but bubble wrap was also added. Nice touch Webike. The damper is a really neat part and it's just like a damper you would find on a rear footrest hanger used to attach an exhaust, similar design anyway. The rubber is firm and loosk to be pressed fit, I guess over time these maty perish but as I said, I have no idea how a 202 bike has managed to kill one of these. All was deliverd in A1 condition and then go to fit the damper. This was not too difficult, the difficuty comes when you have to remove all the panels and such to actually get to where you need to be. Take your time and be careful with the brackets. Fitted easily after all that, took a while to get all the panels back on the bike. Overall result is that there is now no weird noise and teh bracket is doing exactly as it should.
